Let's Go! and Rolling Along!

Let's Go - Grades K - 1

This program engages students in hands-on activities and more. Shapes, colors, numbers and letter sounds become the tools for understanding the exciting world of automobiles and transportation. Comprehensive support materials reinforce basic skills and extend the Museum experience to the classroom.

Let's Go! activities explore:

  • colors
  • sizing
  • numbers
  • directionality
  • matching
  • shapes
  • sequencing
  • letters and sounds

The Let's Go! teaching unit:

  • uses vehicles and a transportation theme to supplement and reinforce the teaching of basic skills
  • includes a Teacher's Guide for CarNut® station activities at the Museum
  • includes CarNut activity card and stickers to be completed by students at the CarNut stations
  • includes a 24" x 36" four-color classroom teaching poster, student activities, teacher's guide and answer key

The Let's Go! teaching poster and activities:

  • are aligned with the Michigan Department of Education Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs)
  • reflect brain-based learning research and the best teaching practices
  • reinforce basic skills in math, science, language arts and social studies
  • can be used in the classroom as a stand-along teaching unit
  • can be used to prepare for and enhance an individual teacher-led field trip to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum

Rolling Along! - Grades 2 - 3

This program provides opportunities for students to connect concepts related to shapes, textures, simple machines, force and energy and geography to the story of Walter P. Chrysler and Chrysler automotive heritage. Pre- and post-visit activities prepare students to apply concepts presented during the Museum experience to the classroom setting.

Rolling Along! activities explore:

  • simple machines
  • transportation
  • geometric shapes
  • motion
  • map skills
  • force
  • energy
  • geography

The Rolling Along! teaching unit:

  • uses vehicles and a transportation theme to supplement and reinforce the teaching of basic skills
  • includes a Teacher's Guide for CarNut® station activities at the Museum
  • includes CarNut activity card and stickers to be completed by students at the CarNut stations
  • includes a 11" x 17" four-color student game page, student activities, teacher's guide and answer key

The Rolling Along! student game page and activities:

  • is aligned with the Michigan Department of Education Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs)
  • reflects brain-based learning research and the best teaching practices
  • reinforces basic skills in math, science, language arts and social studies
